Kidnapped California Boy Found in Juarez

By KTSM News 1

Monday, July 7, 2008 - Days after deputies say his father shot his mother and kidnapped him from his California mother, 9-year old Ryan Ramos has been found alive and well at a Juarez church. Authorities say he was left there by his father, Lonnie Ramos. Ryan was found alone there at around noon Sunday and was taken to the U.S. Consulate in Juarez. Investigators say the boy was abducted by his father on Wednesday. This happened after Ramos reportedly shot his estranged wife, Gynnae Ramos in the face when she went to pick up their son in Portola Hills after a custody visit. An amber alert was issued after it was believed they got away in a Porsche and later obtained a motor home that was found in a border town in California. California Sheriff's Deputies say ramos apparently tried to buy plane tickets for himself and his son, but was unable to do so because he refused to show any identification or provide his name. Court records indicate the couple had been going through a bitter divorce and custody battle since 2003. Ryan's mother is expected to pull through. Her condition has been upgraded to "good."
