Wednesday, June 18, 2008- Lashanda Delaney was hit by a drunk driver over the weekend while out with three of her friends.  The accident happened when Delaney and her friends, Erika James, Licia Kim and Claudia Lopez were leaving the Chit Chat club on Dyer.  The four were crossing Dyer street when 19 year-old Rodriguez Kemp hit the girls with his car.  James, Kim were seriously injured but Lopez died at the scene. 

Delaney walked away with only scratches and bruises.  She tells Newschannel 9 "I turned around and all my friends were gone, all three of them had been hit.  All of them...it was just horrible, they were all laying there, none of them were moving. "

The 19 year old was arrested and has been charged with intoxicated manslaughter as well as two counts of intoxicated assault.
