Tuesday, May 27, 2008 – Emma Acosta and Naomi Gonzalez are hoping to fill the east-central city representative seat left vacant by Jose Alexandro Lozano in January. As close as the voting has been going in, the storm water fee needs one more vote on city council, could decide whether or not the fee hike will continue. At the moment the edge goes to the Public Service Board with a 4 to 3 decision.
So if you want to have your voice heard, in what could be a deciding factor in a controversial issue, then you can get your vote in as early as tomorrow.
The Ysleta Independent School District Board of Trustees position is also on the ballot. Competing for the seat are Robert Ward and Richard Telles-Goins. Early voting will run from Wednesday thru Friday and resume on June 2nd and 3rd, before Election Day on June 7th
