Thursday, May 15, 2008 - News of a slumping housing market is topping headlines across the country, but the latest numbers show El Paso is one of many cities bucking the trend. When it comes to the fastest growing housing markets in the nation, El Paso ranks tenth. What that means is while many homes are going into forclosure or taking a dive in value, El Paso is holding its own. Realtors say while El Paso's housing market is better than most of the country, there are some warning signs. Right now there are more than 4,000 homes up for sale. That's more than last year and homes are staying on the market longer than in years past.
