It was just before 7:30 this morning when police say 25 year old Rene Ortiz and 26 Yadira Gutierrez were driving on Mesa near Argonaut when they lost control and smashed into a building. They both died at the scene.

Neither victim was wearing a seat belt, but officers aren't sure if even that would have saved them.

Police are still investigating the crash. They don't know yet if the driver was drinking.
