Aldrete-Davila first made headlines when he was shot by Border Patrol agents Jose Compeon and Ignacio Ramos. The agents then covered up the shooting and filed a false report. They were convicted and are in prison serving 11 and 12 year sentences.
Aldrete-Davila was granted immunity in that case in exchange for his testimony against the agents. 8 months later, he was caught smuggling drugs into the country.
He will be sentenced in July.
