Las Cruces Police say David Ramos Arenas was calm and collected when he turned himself in at about 2:30 this afternoon. He's now in the Dona Ana County jail with no bond.

Police say on March 11th, Arenas was dressed as a Border Patrol agent when he stopped a car driven by an employee of the district attorney's office in Dona Ana county and she reported the incident. He's accused of the same situation in Otero county but he actually kidnapped and raped a victim there. Arenas is a former Border Patrol trainee.

Police say Arenas may have turned himself in because the search for him was made so public and his picture was on television many times. Arenas is charged with kidnapping and criminal sexual penetration in Otero county, and impersonating a peace officer in Dona Ana county.
