A local veteran got to see his dreams come true Saturday.

With help from the Small Business Development Center, John Ball, who served in the army for 26 years was finally able to open up his business My Time Gym.

The gym, located in East El Paso will give people a place to get fit, manage their weight, and learn about nutrition. Ball said it was a tough road but couldn't be happier to achieve his dream.

"It's always been my goal, my desire, to have my own gym, my own facility. So I have the equipment that I needed in order to help those that wanted to do better and get in better shape," said Veteran and new business owner John Ball.

The SBDC, located at EPCC, worked with John Ball in securing a loan to open his business.

"He's s a master fitness trainer so it was a very important project for him and myself. It's very rewarding to help Mr.Ball,” said Hector Espino, with Small Business Development Center.

The SBDC helps start-up and current business owners with counseling, technical assistance, and training programs needed to successfully open a small business.
