Local Schools Compete for $1 Million Today
EL PASO - The Ysleta Independent School District and Socorro ISD are two of five school districts in the country competing for a $1 million prize today.
The 2010 Broad Prize will be given in the form of college scholarships for high school seniors in the winning district.
The Ysleta and Socorro districts are hosting watch parties at 9:30 a.m. The prize will be webcast live from the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, where U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and Philanthropist Eli Broad will announce the winner.
