Local School Takes Extra Measures to Beef Up Security
EL PASO — A local private school is taking measures to tighten security in the wake of the Newtown shooting,.
Saint Mark's principal sent an e-mail out to parents saying they'll be having a meeting with teachers to discuss campus safety. They are implementing a program to keep outside entrance doors locked where they also have video surveillance.
Teachers have gone through emergency situation training.
Principal linda smith wrote to parents:
"Your child's safety is our number one priority at St. Mark's. We make every effort to ensure your children are guided through their educational day in the safest manner possible."
