Local school districts beef up security

El Paso — A few local districts beefed up security on campuses in response to some parent and teacher concerns about a rumored threat.
At the Ysleta Independent School District, officials sent home notices Wednesday letting parents know of early releases and a modified lockdown on their campuses.
At the El Paso Independent School District, students were not allowed on campuses until finals tests began. Only one door, the main entrance, was open all day until students were released at lunchtime.
