Local group helps renovate disabled El Paso veteran's home
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — On Saturday, El Pasoans came together to lend a helping hand to a local veteran.
'Rebuilding Together El Paso' partnered with 'Sears Heroes at Home' to renovate the home of a low-income elderly Korean War veteran in central El Paso.
Armed with paint brushes and rollers in hand, a dozen volunteers came prepared to give the home a facelift.
"I'm a disabled veteran so I couldn't have done it myself," said home owner, Hector Muñoz.
"I'm pretty sure he went through a lot being a veteran so it's great to be able to come out and do something nice for him since he served our country," said Bobbie Salas, a volunteer.
'Rebuilding Together El Paso' is a non-profit organization dedicated to repairing the homes of low-income homeowners.
