Local Child Sex Offender Among New Mexico's Most Wanted
Sunland Park, N.M. — United States Marshals have added Sergio Luevano to the District of New Mexico’s Most Wanted. The 41-year-old currently has an outstanding warrant with the El Paso Sheriff’s Office in Texas.
Luevano was indicted on April of 2011 on charges of criminal sexual contact of a child under 12. Facts of the investigation show that during the month of March in 2010, Luevano touched or applied force to the unclothed intimate parts of a minor under 12 years of age.
Preliminary police investigative reports indicate Luevano is a member of the Jehovah Witness Church and confessed to elders in the church that he did inappropriately touch the child. Luevano is believed to have fled to Mexico or may be in the borderland area of El Paso and Doña Ana County.
