Letter carriers will hold food drive this Saturday
For the 22nd year, volunteers are helping put food on the table this Mother's Day weekend.
El Pasoans Fighting Hunger, the National Association of Letter Carriers, and United Way of El Paso are having a food drive to help needy families in El Paso County.
Last year the El Paso community collected over 100 thousand pounds of food and this year they want to do the same.
" They can just go through their coverage and look for any food that they can might be able to spare or just to put a couple of bags out near their mailbox wherever their mailbox is and the mail carriers will take care of the rest." said Albert Anchondo, President of the Local Chapter of the National Association of Letter Carriers.
Volunteers are still needed the day of the event. If you would like to help call (915) 298-0353 or stop by the food bank this Saturday at 4 p.m. at 9541 Plaza Circle.
