There are manners to follow, when it comes to owning a pet. That's according to the city Environmental Services and Parks & Recreation groups, who will team up to educate the community on dog park rules and etiquette.

The first of three events is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at the Westside Community Park, at 7400 High Ridge.

The “Dog Park Education and Healthy Pets Training” events are a great opportunity for dog owners to not only familiarize themselves with the parks but to learn and understand the “do’s” and “don’ts” of the City’s dog parks.

Residents and their furry friends of all shapes and sizes are encouraged to attend the free event that will also feature booths by Animal Services, Code Compliance, the Humane Society of El Paso and other organizations.

Animal Services will be offering the public low-cost rabies vaccinations, age-appropriate vaccinations and micro-chipping. The Humane Society of El Paso will offer on-site, reduced pet adoptions. Refreshments and treats for pooches will be provided.

The other two events are scheduled from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. on:

July 14th Eastwood (Album) Park 3001 Parkwood St.

July 28th Tierra del Este #27 Park 12006 Pebble Hills Dr.
