Leeds, Caballero Found Guilty of Contempt of Court
EL PASO — Two El Paso attorneys were guilty of contempt of court, but they won't pay any fines for it.
A judge Saturday issued a verdict in the six-day trial of Theresa Caballero and Stuart Leeds. Caballero is guilty on nine of 11 counts. Leeds is guilty on five of seven counts.
All the charges stem from last year when they successfully defended Judge Regina Arditti in her bribery trial.
The two lawyers were each fined $100, but the fines were probated, meaning they don't have to pay them. The two do still face a big legal battle when they'll face the state bar in the coming months.
