L.C.P.S. Superintendent's Contract Extended

LAS CRUCES - Las Cruces Public Schools Superintendent Stan Rounds will keep his job through June 30, 2013.

We're told on Tuesday the Board of Education voted unanimously to extend Rounds' contract by one year. The extension came after Rounds' mid-year evaluation.

According to the press release, Rounds, 59, became superintendent in February of 2007. We're told he has been a New Mexico educator for more than 37 years and has 24 years of experience as a superintendent in four New Mexico school districts.
