LCPD: "Prospective buyer" steals diamond ring during Craigslist sale

Las Cruces police are searching for a man suspected of stealing a diamond engagement ring from a woman who had advertised the ring set on Craigslist..

The woman with the man, who she thought was a prospective buyer, on Saturday, June 22 in the parking lot of The Shed restaurant on Valley Dr. 

During the meeting, the man allegedly grabbed the diamond engagement ring off of the woman's hand and ran away.

The diamond ring is part of a Vera Wang bridal set valued at $6,000.

He is described as a white man with blonde hair, in his 20's, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 185 pounds. He has tattoos on his neck and hands.  Police said he was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black baggy pants and a black baseball cap.
