LCPD Mobile Operations Command Center on display

LAS CRUCES, N.M. — The Las Cruces Police Department is displaying their mobile operations command center throughout the weekend and asking Las Colinas neighborhood residents to share their concerns about public safety.
The $170,000 trailer is equipped with a briefing room, seven work stations, two satelite receivers and any other equipment necessary for officers.
"It helps out in many ways like taking it out to a crime scene if there is a major incident and have a command post on scene," said LCPD Spokesperson Dan Trujillo.
The command center will remain at the Las Colinas and Galinas intersection til 10pm Saturday.
The police department will hold a free Ident-A-Child program with a picnic at Las Colinas Park from 1pm - 4pm Saturday.
