A Las Cruces woman is a finalist for a one million dollar sweepstakes.
The only problem, she had no idea she was even in the running until Newschannel 9 tracked her down.
Myrna and David Connelly have sent in dozens of entries to the Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes.
They never really thought they'd get anything back.
Then Newschannel 9 got a news release saying Myrna Connely had made the shortlist.
We travelled to the Connely's address listed on Bataan Memorial to talk to them about their good fortune.
But the lucky couple no longer lived there.
They were going about their daily business without even knowing they'd been selected, until we got a hold of them by phone.
We broke the news to David that his wife was indeed a finalist for today'smillion dollar giveway.
The couple was already guaranteed to win at least 1,000 dollars.
For myrna the good news came on what had been a very bad day.
She had lost her job just hours before.
So even if the prize patrol doesn't come knocking on their door, the Connelys think the 1,000 dollars they've already won is blessing enough.
