Former County Judge Anthony Cobos' lawyers are asking the judge to dismiss his corruption case.

Cobos was arrested and indicted back in 2011 on charges that he took bribes in exchange for voting to refinance $40 million of El Paso County debt and to terminate the former county financial advisor's contract.

Cobos then voted to hire another company. His lawyers say U.S. attorneys have not provided enough evidence to prosecute him or the man accused of bribing him, Lorenzo Aguilar.

His trial is still set for the end of August.

If there is nothing there then why have Cobos lawyers spent thousands of hours looking over documents that they are still looking at? If Cobos and his lawyers don't want to go to trial then the lawyers should tell Cobos the shyster to plead GUILTY!
