Latest Information On Chihuahua Governor Attack

Newschannel 9 has new information on the attack that may have targeted the Governor of Chihuahua.

Governor Jose Reyes Baeza's convoy was attacked by gunmen in Chihuahua Sunday night. They were following the governor when a group of about five attacked the bodyguards.

Pictured in the story, a car that was used in the attack. Investigators say the suspects tried to burn all the evidence in this volkswagen, which was stolen.

One of the bodyguards died at the scene, two others were hurt. A former soldier is wanted in connection to the attack.

Governor Reyes Baeza says the attack was not meant for him. At a news conference yesterday he asked federal officials to investigate because he said the assailants fired high-powered weapons that mexican law says can only be used by the military.
