EL PASO- Most people stayed inside on Friday if they could, but Christmas shoppers are up against the clock.

Bassett Place was crowded, even with this weather.

It's only two days before Christmas, and for procrastinating shoppers the snow storm didn't make it any easier.

"We were actually going to stay at home and just watch movies, but we just had to come out here," said shopper George Mata.

Mata admits, he should have got his shopping done earlier.

"I procrastinated very bad, so now I have to finish the rest. It's like 20 people, and I only got one person," said Mata.

For others, the snow is a good thing.

"The snow always gets my husband excited. He always wants to go driving around in it, and we waited until the last minute to get pictures with santa, so it was definitely the last opportunity to do that," said shopper Jennie Jacquez.

Jennie Jacquez says only a few smaller purchases are left on her list.

"I try to buy gifts throughout the year, so that we don't have so much of it at one time, but there was a few last minute items that we needed to get," said Jacquez.

Jacquez also says despite the bad weather, shoppers like her are bound to fill the stores.

"I'm not that surprised about it because it is so close to Christmas and you know, people are going to get what they need to get regardless," said Jacquez.

Some of the youngsters who are just a long for the ride think late shoppers are doing the right thing buying more presents, so they can receive more gifts.

Saturday really does bring Christmas shopping to a close, but don't panic because many stores will be open all day.
