A pair of Las Cruces teenagers were lucky to walk away from a serious crash Monday afternoon in the Las Colinas neighborhood.

According to the Las Cruces Police Department, 16-year-old Andrew Brem lost control of his 2007 Ford Mustang on the 4900 block of Arena Drive just before noon Monday morning.

LCPD says that Brem lost control while allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed, his Mustang jumped the curb and crashed through two trees before landing on a parked Infinity sedan that was parked on the street.

The Infinity was then pushed back into a Ford F-350 truck that was parked behind it. Both the Infinity and the Ford truck were unoccupied at the time of the crash. LCPD estimate that the Mustang and Infinity are total losses, the Ford truck had relatively minor damage.

Brem was cited for careless driving. The crash closed off a portion of Arena Drive for more than an hour while police investigated. Brem and his passenger were not seriously injured in the crash.
