Las Cruces Teens Arrested for Burglary of Sister's Ex-Boyfriend's Home
LAS CRUCES-- Two teenagers were arrested by Las Cruces police after they burglarized a home on Madrid Ave.
David Aguilar, 17, and Marcos Castillo, 16, are charged with one count each of residential burglary, larceny, and conspiracy.
LCPD said a witness saw the two teenagers Wednesday afternoon, break into an apartment on the 200 block of Madrid Ave. The witness then called 911 and told authorities that the teens were leaving the scene in a gold color Toyota Camry.
A Las Cruces police detective later saw the car matching the description on Tornillo St. The car then stopped near Bowman Ave.
The woman whom witnessed the break-in identified both suspects as Aguilar and Castillo.
LCPD detectives learned that the apartment the teens had broken into belonged to the ex-boyfriend of Castillo's sister.
Police said the teens took several items from the apartment, including an electronic gaming station. The stolen items were found at a home on East May Ave.
Aguilar and Castillo are being held in the juvenile section of the Dona Ana County Detention Center.
