Las Cruces, NM (KTSM) — Students at a Las Cruces elementary school were busy today stacking their way to a Guinness world record.
It's all part of a nationwide effort by the world sport stacking association to have the most people sport stacking at multiple locations in one day.
At Conlee Elementary School, 74 fifth-graders and 23 first-graders participated during P.E. class.
Nationwide, half a million stackers from 3,000 schools were expected to participate. In order for it to count, the youngsters must stack continuously, for 30 minutes. Relays and other physical activities were also incorporated at most schools, including Conlee Elementary, to keep the fun moving.
Aside from the world record, the overall goal of the project is to keep kids active.
