LAS CRUCES - The winter storm has been causing problems all over the Borderland, and it's no different in Las Cruces.

Police shut down I-25 northbound to Albuquerque for safety concerns. Drivers were pulling off the road to wait for the snow-packed interstate to open up.

In the city drivers dealt with wet and slick roads. There were so many accidents police had to ask drivers to stop calling for help unless someone was hurt.

"We're discouraging travel everywhere. I think we need to get that info out right now. If there's not a reason to be driving, if you don't have an emergency that you have to be on the roadway... you probably shouldn't be driving. You should probably just stay home," New Mexico State Police Captain Rich Libicer said.

A lot of people have been asking us when I-25 will open back up. Police couldn't give us a time frame.

I was driving around yesterday morning and I did not see ONE NM State Highway Department Truck....Where in the heck were they? They should have been out Tuesday evening salting/sanding the roads.

Then you wonder why New Mexico continues to be voted the DUMBEST STATE in the Union....
