Summer rains have resulted in an abundance of weed growth throughout the community. The City of Las Cruces reminds residents to keep their properties weed free. Codes Enforcement officers will be on the lookout and will meet with residents whose properties may be in violation of city ordinance. It is best to remove weeds when they first appear. Land owners whose properties have highly visible weed growth could face monetary penalties of up to $500 and/or 90 days in jail.

The City of Las Cruces appreciates residents' cooperation in keeping our community looking better by maintaining their property and keeping them free of weeds.

For more information, contact the City of Las Cruces Codes Enforcement at 575/528-4100.

A $500.00 fine and/or 90 days in jail for not pulling weeds on your property? Weeds are a certainly a nuisance, but seriously Las Cruces are weeds creating that big of a crime wave where you feel that you need to lock up the citizens of your community who have weeds on their property? While you are out pulling weeds maybe you should also pull out all of those local politicians as well who passed that ridiculous ordinance.
