Las Cruces Residents Deal With Changing Weather
LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Colder temperatures have brought snow to the Organ Mountains Monday, leaving Las Cruces residents trying to deal with the drastic changes in weather the last two days.
Winds and blowing dust slammed Las Cruces on Sunday. On Monday the winds picked up again, with a cold front hitting the area.
"First we have 60 degree temperatures, then we jump to the 80s on the weekend, and then we have sleet, hail, and wind," said Brandon Hawkins as he made his way into a store.
The winds knocked down signs and trash bins. Blowing dust made it difficult for drivers to see, forcing them to slow down and drive cautiously.
For Las Cruces resident Brandon Hawkins, he expects the sudden changes in weather this time of the year.
"It can be raining and 68 degrees, next thing you know it's 102 degrees," Hawkins said. "It's New Mexico, take it or leave it."
