Las Cruces Prepares for H1N1

New Mexico has some advice following a Swine Flu death in that state over the weekend. The New Mexico Department of Health is giving some guidelines to help you determine if you should see a doctor.

Workshops like one in Las Cruces Monday are getting the message out. The head of the health department says too many people will rush to hospitals as soon as they experience any flu-like symptoms. "We're seeing a stress on our healthcare system as a whole and people who don't need to seek medical care should stay home so we can treat people most at risk from that disease," said Chris Minnick, with the New Mexico Department of Public Health. Minnick says you should go to the hospital if you are having respiratory problems, are unresponsive, or dehydrated.
