LAS CRUCES – Police need the public's help to find a woman and her newborn baby in Las Cruces.

Police believe the infant may be in immediate danger.

Authorities are searching for 29-year-old Renee Marie Garcia, who gave birth to her son 14 days ago. Garcia is 5-feet-4-inches tall and weighs approximately 130 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

Garcia was last seen at around 5 a.m. today near the 300 block of Montana Avenue. Police believe that Garcia may be on foot. Garcia has lived at a residence on Bushland Avenue, off of Holman Road on the city’s East Mesa.

However, over the past couple of days, Garcia and her son have been staying at the Sands Motel on south Main St. in Las Cruces.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Renee Garcia is asked to call 911 immediately.
