Las Cruces Police: House Fire Intentionally Set By 3 Teens Huffing Lighter Fluid
LAS CRUCES — Las Cruces Police charged Sergio Galvan, 18, with negligent arson in connection with a fire at an abandoned house.
According to police, Galvan and two other teenagers were getting high off of lighter fluid in the abandoned home on Brownlee Ave. when they set the house on fire.
Investigators said one of the other teens allegedly soaked a rag with lighter fluid, set it on fire and threw it on a pile of wood in the backyard.
Police have charged that teen with arson, but he has not been arrested.
Investigators said charges against the third teen are possible as well.
