Las Cruces police arrest a man they say attacked an officer. Henry Morris of Las Cruces is facing one count of battery on a peace officer and one count of resisting an officer.

The incident happened on the morning of April 27 when police responded to a domestic disturbance call at the suspect's home. Morris' girlfriend called 911 as the two argued, officials said.

When authorities arrived Morris had his hands in his pockets and as a precaution, the officer asked the suspect to show his hands. Morris refused and that's when he became aggressive, according to police.

The officer was able to restrain Morris and was unharmed. The suspect was transported to a local hospital.

Henry Morris is currently in custody.
