Las Cruces man wins big on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire"
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KTSM) — Todd Michael Hayes, a Delta flight attendant from Las Cruces, NM, appeared as a contestant on "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" with Cedric "The Entertainer" on Wednesday and Thursday.
Hayes made it up to his $100,000 question on Wednesday's episode of the show and continued as a holdover contestant on Thursday's show, where he started by looking at his $250,000 question with no lifelines left.
On Thursday’s show, Todd faced the following question for $250,000:
Invited by Teddy Roosevelt in 1901, who was the first African-American to dine at the White House with the president?
A: Harriet Tubman
B: Booker T. Washington
C: W.E.B. Du Bois
D: George Washington Carver
Out of lifelines and unsure of the answer, Todd decided to not take a guess and walk away with the guaranteed $100,000 that he had already won. If he had guessed incorrectly, he would have fallen back to $25,000 in winnings. The correct answer was “B. Booker T. Washington"
"Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" airs daily on KDBC at 3:00 p.m. El Paso time.
