In conjunction with Earth Week, the time is right to bump up curbside recycling, and Friedman Recycling is launching "Recycling Rewards" in Las Cruces.

Morris Friedman, President/COO of Friedman Recycling, explains, "We just hit the one year anniversary of curbside recycling in Las Cruces," said Morris Friedman, President of Friedman Recycling. "Our recycling numbers are really good here, as this community has embraced the program! Now we want to reward those who 'recycle right' and bump up the excitement by awarding hundreds of dollars in prizes every month to recycling residents. "

Starting Monday, April 30th, curbside recycling pickup drivers will stop at randomly selected addresses to see if 1) the blue curbside recycling bin is at the curb and 2) if the items in the bin match the list of accepted recyclables:

Paper and Cardboard
Plastics 1-7
Metal including aluminum and steel cans, small
electronics, pots and pans

If everything looks good, the driver places a sticker inside the lid of the bin, and the resident has 30 days to call in and claim their prize!

Prizes range from $25 give certificates to local businesses... to a flat-screen TV.

"Recycling Rewards" Launch:
Las Cruces City Hall
700 N. Main St.
Tuesday, April 17th @ 12:30 p.m.
