Las Cruces High Schools Over Capacity

High schools in Las Cruces are having a tough time keeping up with the city's growth. All three of the city's high schools are over capacity.

The maximum recommended enrollment for each of the high schools is 2,000 students. Las Cruces high exceeds that by nearly 500 students, Mayfield by almost 350 students and Onate by 160 students.

School leaders say a tough new attendance policy is also behind the record growth.
