Sean Kugler made a hurried trip to El Paso Monday to meet with UTEP players and will be formally introduced as UTEP's Coach in a 1:00 press conference.

He interviewed for the position on Thursday with Athletic Director Bob Stull and apparently accepted the job Friday.    Jeff Choate of Washington St., who coached with Kugler at Boise St., is expected to become the Miner's Defensive Coordinator.

As NewsChannel 9 reported at 10:00 Friday, Kugler's  name was always at the top of Stull's list.

Kugler played for Stull when he was a four year letter winner at UTEP and is presently  the offensive line coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers.  He was also an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for one season at Boise St.

Kugler is expected to finish the NFL season with Pittsburgh.

UTEP has posted seven straight losing seasons and has not won a bowl game since 1966.
