KTSM top stories: Friday, March 29th

Here are a look at some of today's top local stories on KTSM:

Crews will be working through Easter weekend to try and get the Asarco smokestacks ready for demolition. The roughly 800 and 600 foot tall towers are set to come down on April 13th, a day before City Hall is demolished. The 800 foot tower was once the tallest chimney in the world when it was built back in the 1960's. Now there are chimneys twice as tall.

Hotel rooms in downtown El Paso are being booked quickly in anticipation of the City Hall demolition happening April 14th. Some of the best views have already been reserved. Many people are planning demolition parties in those hotels.

Thousands of Borderland residents took part in an annual pilgrimage up Mt. Cristo Rey on this Good Friday. It's a pilgrimage that takes place every year from right before sunrise. It's a 4.4 mile round trip hike.
