Kidnapping Suspect Caught after 5-Months on Run
EL PASO — A man wanted by Doña Ana County Sheriff’s deputies on several felony charges, including first-degree kidnapping, was been arrested in El Paso after five months on the run.
According to U.S. Customs agents, Jose R. Martinez, 39, was arrested Aug. 16 in El Paso.
Martinez wanted in Doña Ana County, following allegations he assaulted an Anthony woman and held her against her will for two days.
A grand jury indicted him on first-degree kidnapping, aggravated battery against a household member with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery against a household member causing great bodily harm, and two counts of aggravated assault against a household member with a deadly weapon.
He was booked at Doña Ana County Detention Center.
