Key Player in Corruption Trial Denies Charges

EL PASO - Former El Paso County Judge Luther Jones is denying any wrongdoing in his federal corruption trial today.
Jones is accused of bribing former District Clerk Gilbert Sanchez with meals, trips and cash in return for a multi-million dollar contract in 2004.
Prosecutors are trying to establish a pattern of corruption with Jones. They showed email where Jones supposedly threatened school district leaders while he served on the YISD board.
Jones is a key player is a widespread public corruption investigation that goes back years. Dozens of people have been implicated, arrested, charged or pleaded guilty in the probe.
