Juvenile Suspected in Igniting Vacant House Fire

EL PASO — A house fire on Pendell Road Wednesday night required 25 firefighters to contain the blaze.
The house, which was vacant, sustained heavy fire and smoke damage throughout. The fire started in a room towards the front of the house and spread through most of the home. Damages are estimated at $40,000 however no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was ruled intentional by a fire investigator and a juvenile was detained and has been taken into custody. At this time, investigators do not believe this fire is related to the dumpster and apartment fire that occurred Wednesday morning.
