El Paso, TX (KTSM) — Thirty year-old Craig Graham was accused of shooting and killing two Fort Bliss soldiers outside a nightclub in Central El Paso in 2012. After two days of deliberating, jurors came to a unanimous decision before noon today and found Graham guilty of killing the soldiers.
Craig Graham showed no signs of emotion and stared blankly at jurors while they announced their verdict and found him guilty of capital murder. Friends and family members of Graham and of the two victims sat quietly in the court room.
As we reported, Craig Graham was at Fussion Nightclub in Central El Paso on January 15th, 2012 when he and another Fort Bliss soldier, Tyrone head got into an argument over a woman. The confrontation escalated and Head allegedly grabbed a gun out of his car, and fired 10 shots into the air. Graham started shooting back but instead shot into the crowd. He hit Tyrone Head and also the two 21-year old soldiers, Damien Bailey and Preston Brown -- both of them were killed.
Tyrone Head was acquitted of murder charges in February. After jurors announced their verdict for Craig Graham this morning, Judge Patrick Garcia ordered the jury to begin deliberating about Graham's punishment. Shortly after though, the judge decided to postpone the punishment phase for Craig Graham. Jurors will return Monday morning to continue deliberating.
Graham faces life in prison.
