EL PASO - An El Paso man must serve two years in prison for his role in bribing EPISD board member Sal Mena.
The sentence is part of the ongoing public corruption investigation in El Paso County.
Jose Gallegos, 41, pleaded guilty to helping pay a $13,000 bribe to Mena in return for Mena's help in securing contracts on EPISD projects.
The sentencing follows yesterday's corruption convictions of former county judge Luther Jones and former district clerk Gilbert Sanchez.
