Juarez man busted with more than 130 pounds of pot
El Paso, Texas (KTSM) — A Juarez man is behind bars after he was caught with more than 130 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop.
Shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Monday, Jose Villalobos-Esquilver, 24, of Juarez, Mexico, was driving his truck near the intersection of Tower Trail and Gateway East when an officer spotted him on a cellphone and pulled the vehicle over on the 1200 bock of Zragoza, according to the City of El Paso.
During the stop, law enforcement found 132 bundles of marijuana, weighing 131.8 pounds. The drugs were found inside a plastic trash can and box.
The suspect was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility. His bond is set at $60,000.
