Seven More Killed in Juarez Overnight

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico--- The violence in Juarez shows no sign of slowing down, as another seven people were killed Friday night.

In the Colonia El Granjero in South Central Juarez, a group of suspects entered a car shop and shot at seven men; killing all but one, Juarez police said.

The surviving man was seriously injured, police said.

In Northwest Juarez, a group of attackers gunned down a woman while she was driving her van, police said.

None of the victims' identities were released, and no arrests were made in either incident.

The possibility of Juarez' death toll reaching 1,600 by the end of 2008 is becoming more of a reality, police said.

Meanwhile, medical examiners at the Juarez morgue continue to be overwhelmed.

According to Chihuahua State police, examiners have performed 2,000 autopsies this year.

Of those, 1,500 deaths were related to execution-style murders.
