Juárez tire fire sends smoke over El Paso
Ciudad Juárez, Mexico — Thick black smoke could be see hovering over parts of El Paso today, and it turns out it was coming from Juárez. The fire began this morning at a tire shredder company next to the city landfill in South Juárez. Six fire trucks responded to the fire, but it burned for hours. Officials were put on alert to stop it from spreading to the landfill. No word yet on what caused the fire.
Meanwhile, three small houses caught fire in Southwest Juárez. Residents in the area say the fire started in a small dumpster nearby. Luckily, no one was hurt.
