Job fairs aim for workers in health care, military

Two fairs being held in the Borderland Friday will provide employment opportunities.

The first, aimed at workers in the health care industry, takes place Friday morning and will be hosted by Work Solutions Upper Rio Grande.

Employers will be seeking registered nurses, surgical technicians, human resources clerks, radiology techs, and data entry clerks, among other positions.

The fair is being held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the first floor of the Workforce Solutions Downtown building, 300 E. Main St.

Parking is free for job seekers.

If you're in the military, a vet, or family of military, there's a special fair for you Friday as well.

The Helping Hands Agencies Coalition, which includes the Red Cross, Emergence Health Network, Veterans Affairs, among others, is offering information on employment support along with educational, financial, and emotional assistance.

The Free Resource Fair will be held at the Armed Forces Reserve Center, 11701 Montana Ave. from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
