EL PASO—Sun Metro will receive 12 new vans this month to support its Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC) program, also known as Job Express.
The vans will support El Paso's Job Express which offers transportation services for low-income individuals and welfare recipients seeking to gain work and training experience that would otherwise be unavailable without the assistance. The program was currently serves an annual ridership of 33,138 people.
To establish eligibility, individuals contact an area social services agency and request a referral for Job Express. Candidates must live or work within the Sun Metro service area and be registered with a welfare-to-work program (e.g. TANF or Choices) or receive services from an area social service agency or employment center (e.g. Upper Rio Grande@Work, YWCA, Texas Works, Housing Authority of El Paso).
