Jaws of life used to pull passenger out of wrecked car

Two people were rushed to the hospital after their car crashed into a semi truck.

The accident happened after 2 a.m. Wednesday near Bomarc and Trans Mountain in Northeast El Paso.

The semi was approaching Loop 375, east bound when the Mustang traveling south bound on Bomarc slammed into the semi.

According to El Paso police, the driver of the Mustang admitted she had been drinking.

Crews had to use the jaws of life to get the male passenger out of the Mustang.     

Both were taken to University Medical Center to be treated for their injuries.

The driver of the semi was not injured.
