Homeland Security Chief To Adress War On Drugs
Department of Homeland Security Chief Janet Napolitano will be in El Paso today to address the War On Drugs.
She'll be surveying border operations to help law enforcement find ways to disrupt gun and money smuggling.
Critics say Napolitano has some explaining to do while she's here.
El Paso is one of the busiest border towns in the country, yet the ports of entry are not receiving federal stimulus money.
Napolitano approved $300 million for port improvements in California, Arizona and New Mexico, but not in Texas.
Today, she's expected to tour Columbus, New Mexico. Like Texas, the state is also asking for the National Guard's help to protect against border violence.
Napolitano will start her trip at the Bridge Of The Americas at noon.
